Breakfast - Chicken Tenders, Eggs, Baked Beans, and Grapefruit

This is the last of the grapefruit. In fact, it is the last of the fresh fruit. We'll be eating canned and dried fruit for the next couple of weeks.

Breakfast - Today, we're having chicken tenders for our breakfast meat. I served them with fried eggs, canned baked beans, grapefruit sections, whole grain toast, milk, and coffee.

Lunch: BBQ beef ribs, baked potatoes, broccoli, toast, and milk. The ribs and the broccoli came out of the freezer.

The ribs and chicken tenders were on the end-of-day markdown shelf at the grocery store deli a while back. The ribs have good, clean bones, the kind we like to give to our dog. At the markdown price, buying the ribs was cheaper than buying dog treats. We get rib meat, NeeMo gets rib bones -- it's a win-win deal. There's enough ribs in the package for at least another meal.

This is the last of the potatoes. Oh, we still have frozen hash brown patties, and canned potatoes, and some instant mashed flakes. But these are the last two from the potato bucket.

The phrase, "This is the last of," keeps popping up with more frequency.

Snacks: Bite-size Almond Joys, dried cherries, and sesame snack mix with wasabi peas. Th little candy bars are left from some we bought after Halloween, when they were 75 percent off the regular price. The sesame snack mix was a Christmas present.

Let's see what we come up with tomorrow.
